The Great Basin Murders
On October 2, 1972 a local man who was chukar hunting discovered the remains of Devil’s Gate Jane Doe in a shallow ditch in rural Elko County. The torso was not recovered. Investigators believe she died between 1-3 months before being found and was 15-18 years old at the time of death.
