In this body of work I investigate the intersection of two linguistic systems: the classification of objects at rest in Dine Bizaad (Navajo), and the word order of heavy metal subgenres. In both taxonomies individual elements communicate specific physical or aesthetic attributes through amalgamated enclitics. Through this comparison I see the componential organization of information through objective physicality and aestheticism as subverting Western thought based in subjective associations.
