Unidentified Remains
On June 8th, 2002, a citizen found a human skull in a lawnmower bag dumped alongside a brush pile on a property in the 22300 block of 50th Ave Ct. E. in Spanaway, WA. The skull was believed to have been dumped in that location sometime between April and June of 2002.
Using Victorian era patterns and stitches, I hand embroidered a funeral spray floral arrangement onto a found lawnmower bag to commemorate this unidentified person. Victorian memorial embroidery often includes images of funerary urns, which drastically contrast the lawnmower bag this Doe’s remains were found in. Through devotional craft I attempt to bring a level of respect and attention to this case.
While this individual is still unidentified, their case changed jurisdictions in 2025 and is not currently listed in the national registry.
